It is based on
the promotion of public-private cooperation, local-global
interaction, and national and international participation
to develop new mechanisms of economic sustainability
that allow the implementation of conservation
initiatives in Chile.
WCS has set
up a unique international alliance with Goldman
Sachs, a leading international financial
organization. WCS expects to work with Goldman
Sachs to assure not only Karukinka’s ecological
but also financial sustainability.
WCS has created
an Advisory
Board that brings together representatives
of the scientific and business sectors, mainly
Chileans, that will provide recommendations and
advice favoring Karukinka’s development.
Karukinka will
reflect both domestic and trans-Andean efforts
for the conservation of fauna and flora in the
wild, establishing an articulated network of protected
and productive areas.
